Biometric authentication performs identification and authentication based on recognizable and verifiable data that is unique and specific to that person.
Authentication systems compare provided data with validated user information stored in a database. In traditional systems, that would be passwords, and in biometric authentication, this information is physical or behavioral traits.
What are the types of biometric authentication?
Biometric authentication includes:
- Facial recognition
- Fingerprint identification
- DNA matching
- Retina scanning
- Vein scanning
- Voice ID
