URL shortening and tracking in WhatsApp template button messages over API
This release introduces the ability to shorten and track both static and dynamic button URLs when creating WhatsApp message templates using the API.
Key features:
- URL shortening and tracking: You can now enable URL shortening and tracking during template registration by defining a
customDomain
in theshorteningOptions
object. This allows you to generate trackable, shortened URLs for both static and dynamic links. - Custom domains: When creating a template, ensure a custom domain is already registered (opens in a new tab) and included in the
shorteningOptions
object. The dynamic URL can be specified separately within the template structure for tracking purposes. - Dynamic IDs for tracking: Each shortened link receives a unique dynamic ID upon message sending, which allows Infobip to track customer clicks.
For more details, refer to our documentation (opens in a new tab).
Automatic resource association for Tech Providers
To enhance the onboarding process for Tech Providers, this release introduces automatic resource association with entity and application IDs during the WhatsApp sender registration through the embedded signup flow. This simplifies the registration process by automatically linking WhatsApp resources to the appropriate application and identity IDs during creation. By adding options for specifying these IDs within the registration request, this solution offers a streamlined method for managing multiple customer accounts.
To find out more about the Tech Providers program, refer to our documentation (opens in a new tab).
Essentials
API access
The API access control prohibits the use of basic authentication as a security measure. Instead, you can select between two protocols to access the platform securely. Check the API access (opens in a new tab) section and find out more.
Conversations
Simplified creation of new conversations
The creation of new conversations has become even simpler. Unnecessary steps have been removed, and the validation has been improved.

Answers
New Exchange element to integrate Answers with Amazon Web Services
Use the AWS signing proxy element to integrate your chatbot to your endpoints on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Example: As part of your chatbot conversation, you want to authenticate end users for your application that is hosted on AWS. Use the AWS signing proxy element to do AWS authentication for API calls that are made from your chatbot.
People
You can now track Product events for Answers and Conversations
The following product events are now available in People.
- Answers (opens in a new tab): The product events show when an end user started or ended a specific chatbot session, and if the session failed to start. These events are created only if a Person profile exists in People for the end user.
- Conversations (opens in a new tab): The product events show when an end user created or closed a conversation. These events are created only if a Person profile exists in People for the end user.
For more information, refer to the Product events documentation.
Moments
Add WhatsApp Flows to your flow in Moments
EARLY ACCESS
You can now add a WhatsApp Flow, which you create in WhatsApp Manager, to your flow in Moments. When an end user reaches this section of the flow, they can view the WhatsApp Flow within the WhatsApp app on their device. They can complete the actions required by the WhatsApp Flow and then continue the flow in Moments.
Example: Add a WhatsApp Flow to book an appointment.
For more information, refer to the WhatsApp > WhatsApp Flows documentation.
Forms
New WhatsApp Flows forms to collect data from WhatsApp Flows
EARLY ACCESS
Use WhatsApp Flows forms to collect data that end users submit over your WhatsApp Flows.
For each WhatsApp Flow that you create in WhatsApp Manager, a WhatsApp Flows form is automatically created in your Infobip account. When an end user submits data through the WhatsApp Flow, the data is collected by the form. You can then use the form data to create personalized end user journeys or save the data to a person profile in People (opens in a new tab).
For more information, refer to the Manage WhatsApp Flows forms documentation.
Numbers and Compliance
Bulk number configuration via the Numbers app
When managing large volumes of numbers in the Numbers app, you can now bulk configure inbound configuration, saving time and effort compared to configuring each number individually. Previously, all configuration changes in the Numbers app required you to select the individual number. Now, you can select several or all numbers, and then configure the numbers in bulk.
List resources and lookup coverage via Resource API
This release includes the expansion of the Resources API and it includes the following features:
- List resources by type: alphanumeric or numeric. It is now possible to retrieve alphanumeric resources, which were previously unavailable.
- Lookup coverage: A live routing check is performed to see which networks within a country the resource will work for SMS.
For more information, see the Resources API documentation (opens in a new tab).
Dynamic forms for requesting alphanumeric senders via My Requests app
When making requests in the My Requests app, after selecting the required country, previously, alphanumeric sender requests offered a static form. In this release, you are now offered dynamic forms, adjusted based on the selected country, ensuring the correct information is gathered.
For more information, see Submit My Requests.
Voice and Video
Enhanced background noise filtering
In this latest update, experience clearer, more focused conversations due to enhanced background noise filtering powered by DeepFilterNet. This advanced deep learning model adapts to various environments, significantly reduces background noise and ensures superior call quality, especially in noisy or challenging settings. Enjoy crystal-clear speech, even in busy or loud environments.
Now available in our WebRTC JavaScript Extension library (opens in a new tab).
Apple Messages for Business
Typing indicator in standalone Apple Messages for Business API and Messages API
This release introduces automatic typing indicators for Apple Messages for Business. When receiving messages, typing indicators are now automatically sent before each message to provide a consistent user experience across all platforms.
Key benefits:
- Automatic typing indicators: Typing indicators are automatically sent before each message using the standalone API (opens in a new tab) and Messages API (opens in a new tab), ensuring users are notified when the sender is typing.
- Seamless user experience: For bot-driven interactions, the typing indicator will display for 1 second before sending each message to simulate a more natural interaction. Multipart messages will trigger only one typing indicator, ensuring a smooth experience.
- Error handling: If the typing indicator call fails, the message will still be sent without the typing indicator, ensuring continual communication.
Business notifications and binary templates in Apple Messages for Business (AMB) and Messages API
The October release introduces two key features for Apple Messages for Business: business-initiated notifications and binary choice templates. These enhancements allow businesses to engage with customers more proactively and deliver personalized communication.
Key benefits:
- Business-initiated notifications:
- Businesses can now send notifications directly to users without waiting for them to initiate the conversation.
- This feature currently supports specific use cases, such as Where Is My Order (WISMO) notifications, allowing businesses to provide real-time updates on orders, shipping, and deliveries.
- This capability extends the functionality of Apple Messages for Business, enabling businesses to keep users informed and engaged with critical updates.
- Binary choice templates:
- New template feature that allows customers to respond to inquiries with simple "Yes" or "No" options.
- The only currently supported use case is Connect Using Messages, where businesses, after obtaining user opt-in, send messages asking whether the user wants to continue the conversation on the Apple channel.
- This functionality simplifies user interaction, provides quick decision-making options, and improves response times.
- Blocklist management:
- Users who opt out of business update messages are automatically added to a blocklist, preventing further notifications from being sent to them. Users can manage re-opt-ins at any time. Once they opt in again, they can receive blocklist events and manage or delete blocklisted destinations.
- This feature improves compliance and ensures transparent communication, enabling businesses to track user opt-ins and opt-outs easily.
For more information, refer to our documentation (opens in a new tab).
Manage suppressions over API
This release introduces new API endpoints for managing suppressions to, for example:
- Get suppressions (opens in a new tab): retrieve the suppressions for domains that are owned or have permissions granted
- Add suppressions (opens in a new tab): add email addresses to a suppression list
- Delete suppressions (opens in a new tab): delete email addresses from a suppression list
- Get suppression domains (opens in a new tab): get the domains that can be managed for suppressions
