ISV to Tech Provider Program migration
Meta has updated its WhatsApp Business Messaging ecosystem, requiring all Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) to migrate to the Tech Provider Program by December 31, 2025, to maintain uninterrupted access to WhatsApp services.
The Tech Provider Program simplifies collaboration between ISVs and Infobip by:
- Simplifying account management with shared responsibilities for WhatsApp Business Accounts (WABAs).
- Improving onboarding with the sender registration process, allowing ISVs to host the signup process directly within their products.
- Providing access to new tools and features for WhatsApp integrations.
To ensure uninterrupted service, follow the steps below and complete your migration before the deadline.
Register as a Tech Provider
To register as a Tech Provider, follow the steps below:
- Complete the setup process.
- As an ISV, you likely already have a business portfolio. However, Tech Provider registration requires creating a new business portfolio explicitly designated as a Tech Provider.
- This portfolio is separate from a standard enterprise customer portfolio and must meet the Tech Provider Program requirements.
- Follow the integration steps.
If you already have an existing integration with Infobip APIs, such as a contact center, you do not need to make changes to it.
If you do not have a user interface for hosting the WhatsApp onboarding process, Infobip can assist. Contact your account manager for support.
Migrate your existing customers
To migrate your existing customer, follow these steps:
- Share the WABA IDs of your customers with your Infobip account manager.
- Infobip then initiates the WABA IDs migration request with Meta.
- Meta notifies all WABA owners via email and within the Meta Business Portfolio manager, requesting migration acceptance.
- WABA owners must accept the migration request within 90 days. If they do not complete this step, the migration will be automatically approved.
Once approved, the senders and all high-quality approved message templates will be migrated to the new setup.
Sender analytics and messages in Meta's 30-day retry queue will not be migrated.
Once you complete the integration steps, you can begin onboarding new customers under the Tech Provider Program.
