Flooding mechanism - DCL

DCL or Destination Counter Limitator is a security mechanism that protects Infobip clients from getting flooded with messages.

It is turned on by default for each new account created on the Infobip web interface. It can be turned off by request through your account representative, although it is not recommended in most use cases.

The flooding protection thresholds are set at the value of 20 for short messages with different text, with the 21st message within an hour being rejected by our platform; and to the value of 6, where the 7th message with identical content, sent within an hour, will be rejected. Messages that are not accepted for processing and are rejected by the platform will not be charged.

A protection is in place for both end subscribers and Infobip clients that safeguards from accidentally terminating a large amount of messages towards the same subscriber.
