Deliverability and compliance

Currently, KakaoTalk services are available only in South Korea.

It is important to implement measures to stay compliant when using KakaoTalk channels. These measures include abiding by local rules and laws about customer data protection and messaging windows.

Non-compliance may result in being blocked from using a communication channel or being suspended permanently.

Alim Talk

If you want to send messages over Alim Talk, your customers do not need to opt into your channel. Any informative or transactional messages that you send must use templates that are approved by Kakao Corp. You can get approvals through the Alim Talk admin web interface.

Alim Talk uses the phone number as the identifier.

To use Alim Talk, choose one of the following options to register the message templates:

• Ask Infobip to register the templates.
• Register the templates yourself: Provide Infobip with a public IP address to be safelisted. Infobip will set up access to the template registration web interface. You can then register the templates using this web interface.

Template registration verification takes 3 to 5 days.

Chingu Talk

Chingu Talk is available only to end users who opt into the channel, that is, add or follow the channel. You can send messages only during a specified time (between 8:00 and 20:00 KST).

Chingu Talk uses the phone number as the identifier.

Sangdam Talk

A conversation between an agent and an end user can start only when the end user opts into the channel, that is, adds or follows the channel. Only end users can start a conversation between them and the agent. The conversation can last only while the session is open. Either the end user or the agent can close the session.

Sangdam Talk uses an ID as an identifier.
