Blocklist
Overview

Blocklists

Blocklists (known as Do Not Contact lists in the web interface) are a way to manage contacts and destinations that no longer want to be contacted in communications and campaigns. They provide a feature that lets you collect, manage, and track the list of destinations that have opted out of receiving communication and so remain compliant with important personal data regulations, such as GDPR.

The Blocklist feature is designed to manage and automate the process of handling client opt out and unsubscribe actions, ensuring compliance with communication preferences and regulations. By respecting clients' opt out requests, this feature helps maintain a positive relationship with your audience.

When a number or email destination is added to the Blocklist, Infobip checks the list before sending any further communication.

Add numbers and emails to the Blocklist by:

  • Automatically adding opt outs

    • Defining MO keyword with the Blocking action
    • Use URL opt out links
    • Evaluate an event over Moments communication flow
  • Manually managing opt outs

    • Programmatically over Blocklist API
    • Manually over People using the Do Not Contact list

Features

Opt outs collected using defined rules

Infobip automatically collects opt outs depending on client-defined rules. Examples include MO keyword, URL opt out, and evaluating event from Moments.

Opt out management

Opt out management over the Do Not Contact list and over the Blocklist API.

Live traffic blocking based on collected opt outs

When sending a message, Infobip checks the Blocklist and will not send messages to those on the list, provides an error code stating that this person has unsubscribed.

Logging campaign reference

Blocklist logs campaign reference information from both the web interface and the Campaign Reference ID. Campaign information is logged when a record is first added. Campaign information provides analytical insights into which unsubscribes are linked to specific campaigns and how those campaigns are performing.
